Parents calling a childcare centre or school want to hear one thing: that their message gets through. Especially with an absence report at a quarter past eight.
In the group or in front of a class the phone cannot always be answered. Say so honestly, confirm that recorded absence reports are processed, and mention the emergency number for urgent matters concerning a child.
